About Z-Access
3D printers are cheaper and easier than ever, and plenty still end up in a closet after the first jam. Z-Access exists to help families, educators, makers, and businesses get printers working, learn to design, and have a person to ask.
Who we are
Basil Hill
Co-founder and lead. The machines, the making, and your orders.
Z-Access is Basil's vision. He leads the machines and the making, from printer set-up and fixes to every order we print.
Gina Wilt, EdD
Co-founder. Leads learning, camps, and programs for schools and groups.
Gina Wilt, EdD, is a certified teacher who has spent more than 20 years building learning programs, from special education classrooms to teacher preparation. Off the clock, you'll find her tending peppers and strawberries in her garden, thrifting for vintage finds, or on a road trip up north with her dogs: Doug and Dexter, her French Bulldogs, and Sky, her Lab.
The name, twice over
Say Z-Access out loud and it sounds like Z-axis: the direction every 3D print grows, one layer at a time.
The access part is the reason we exist. People need access to good machines, to the know-how that makes them work, and to a person who can look at a failed print and tell them why it happened.
Learn, grow, and make together
Families making their first real thing, educators bringing it back to class, and makers getting better every week.
What we're building
We're working toward a studio near Scottsdale Road and Thomas. The plan is a place where you'll be able to use well-maintained 3D printers with help nearby, take workshops and camps, bring in a printer that's stopped working, and order prints.
